It all started a day before my best friend Sameer's birthday (30th August 2012).The one who knows me upside down & my all time supporter.I was thinking what to gift him on his birthday..? But no idea touched my heart.Finally thought of baking a cake for him & visualized a charming smile on his face.
I had never entered into the kitchen & cooking wasn't my cup of tea.So, I asked my friends Foram (Gigli puff) & Sneha whom I call "The Professionals in Cooking" to guide me.All plan was set. I called Sameer at 11.40 pm so that I could wish him first. At sharp midnight I wished him & my excitement level had reached its peak.
The was all ready from the morning & was very enthusiastic. By luck, my second lecture got cancelled. But Foram couldn't turned up cause of some problem. I with Shweta ran home quickly, made list of ingredients & came for shopping. But all grocery stores were closed as it was friday. Without wasting a minute we rushed to the shopping mall & arranged ingredients.
All ingredients were in place & we were all set to start but Sneha was also gonna come late.It gave me a "Mini Heart Attack". Me along with Shweta started the preparations. Everything was going smoothly but the time was ticking.Now it was the time to bake the cake.I was just hoping & praying to god that everything should go in place.I was eagerly waiting for the Sameer to eat the cake & a big smile on his face. All I was doing was waiting & waiting for my cake to get ready.The time was running rapidly & my heart was pondering ten times faster. On the other hand Sameer was calling me continuously & I was giving him excuses each time to make him wait for me as my cake wasn't ready. Each time I went to check my cake it was dancing in the mold. Now I was completely tensed about what to do ahead...?Was completely nervous on what to do next?
Sameer finally called me stating that he can't wait anymore he is directly coming at my place & I couldn't stop him.Now my cake was looking okay & it was the time to remove it from the mold. I prayed to God that it should come out in a proper shape.Meanwhile,the bell rang & my friend opened the door & Sameer directly entered into the kitchen. I held the mold upside down & unexpectedly the cake got shattered all over the plate and seeing it my heart was in my mouth. But somehow I controlled my emotions & managed to shape the cake. I did the icing & placed the candles.
Sameer was so happy on seeing the cake I made. He made a wish,blew the candles & while cutting the cake, came an innocent smile, a God's smile...!!!Seeing him so happy I was completely satisfied to make him feel special & by God's grace cake was tasting yummy too.
And this was how my DANCING CAKE made an priceless memory for us...!!!At times we try to do something which we never had done before,JUST TO MAKE SOMEONE FEEL SPECIAL...!!!
